Copper Finials Elevate Any Style of Home

If you’re looking for a way to set your home apart from others, or just give it an update, consider installing copper finials. Meant to enhance an already beautiful roof and give your whole house a more classic feel, copper finials offer a high impact using only a small amount of surface area.

What kinds of homes are suited for copper finials? Really, these accents give a refined look to any style of roof (even minimal, contemporary styles). We’ll use an OKC neighborhood like Nichols Hills (and even the nearby Village) as an example.

Nichols Hills first started developing in the 1930s and became a city in 1959; it’s completely surrounded by Oklahoma City, so there can be little residential development within city limits at this point. Although the city claims just 2 square miles of total ground area, the style of the houses deviate drastically from one street—sometimes even one lot—to the next.

A large number of homes in Nichols Hills are in the Connecticut Farm and Early American styles: traditional, clean lines in subtle shades. You won’t find many modern, cookie-cutter brick styles. You will find plenty of Tudors, a few French or English Country, and a few Victorian style homes. The hodgepodge of styles works well because the homes are well-maintained and, overall, classic.

Copper accents like finials and cupolas complement these styles extremely well. Copper ages beautifully—and lends any structure a hefty dose of authenticity and refinement. Copper finials are custom-fitted to your roof during installation, and you can even create a custom design if you wish. Whatever design you choose, copper finials will add both value and curb appeal to your home.

Even in the quickly changing climate of Oklahoma City, copper finials will prove highly durable. In fact, more than two-thirds of the copper used for architectural, decorative, and plumbing products is derived from recycled scrap—so it’s both eco-friendly and hard-as-nails tough. Oh, and it looks (really) good.
