Van De Steeg is fully insured with $2 million in general liability and workers’ compensation. Each of our individual subcontractors has workers comp and general liability as well.
What does it mean to be GAF Master Elite Certified?
When we install a roof, we are installing an entire system from the manufacturer. Everything from the felt, to the ice and water shield, to the ventilation, shingles, and the ridges—they are all branded by GAF Roofing Manufacturers. This allows us to offer longer warranties that are guaranteed by the manufacturer. This certification places us in the top 10% of roofing contractors in the US. Not only are we GAF certified, but we were the first contractor to earn the GAF President’s Club Award in 2012 and have been the recipient 3 times, and have earned the GAF Triple Excellence Award 5 times. We have won Readers Choice “Best Roofing Company” Awards 9 times or have been voted as one of the top 5 since 2009.
My roof might be damaged from a storm. What is the process for repair?
Step 1: Call Van De Steeg to come out for your roof inspection.
Step 2: If there is damage, our experts can determine if it is a result of a storm, and guide you through the process of contacting your insurance company.
Step 3: Your insurance company will send out an adjuster, and we will work with them to assess the damage.
Step 4: Our insured roofers will come out to your home and replace or repair the damage as needed.
What type of roofing materials can you repair and replace?
We can repair or replace composition shingles, tile, slate, clay, metal, wood and modified shingles. We can also repair and replace siding, windows, gutters, crickets, turbines, ventilation, patio covers, arbors and coopolas.
How long does it take to replace my roof completely?
Once the contract is signed it takes about 2-3 days depending on the size of your home.
Can I be home during the roofing installation or repair?
Hand nailing is very noisy, so we recommend that you plan to be out of the house during the installation for your comfort.
How should I prepare for roofing repair or installation?
We recommend that you have plans to keep your children and pets indoors to protect them from falling debris. Please remove valuables from the walls (TVs, art, etc), as the vibrations from the nailing can cause items to fall. We also ask that you give us full access to driveway and give us electric access for machinery. Lastly, please point out tender vegetation, landscaping oddities, or water features so we can cover them with a tarp.
How do I know what color roof looks good with my home?
GAF and CertainTeed both offer virtual programs that allow you to upload a picture of your home so you can “try on” different colors and types of shingles. Our experts can also offer their experienced opinions in choosing colors. In addition, if you are in an HOA, your covenants may require certain colors for your neighborhood.
